In 2005 Trish and Darren, two siblings with a lifelong love for all things canine, created Top Dog Daycare & Spa. They envisioned a safe and friendly space where dogs could socialize and receive top-of-the-line grooming services. Top Dog is considered Victoria’s premiere daycare and grooming facility, known for it’s passionate and highly trained staff. And our commitment to Standards that go well above the industry norm.

The Team

Trish

Trish has dedicated herself to a career in canine care and training. As a certified Master Dog Trainer with the Canada West Canine Centre, Trish uses her knowledge of animal behaviour to help strengthen the human-canine bond. Her expertise in animal behaviours ensures that Top Dog provides the healthiest and most enjoyable experience for our clients.

Darren

Darren’s love for dogs began at an early age and covers all breeds, from the German Shepherds of his youth to his current Jack Russell rescue. With years of experience as a dog handler, Darren is the most visible of the team as he spends significant time out and about ensuring all Top Dog canine clients get their necessary exercise every day, rain or shine.

Nandi

Growing up in rural Ontario. Nandi learned to care for many types of animals in a family farm setting. After moving to Vancouver Island, she continued to expand her skill set by working in a local veterinary clinic. At Top Dog, we consider ourselves lucky to have had Nandi on the team since 2012, her years of expertise have proven to be a valued resource.

JK

Jin Kyung (JK), our Head Groomer, has been an integral part of the Top Dog experience since 2010. In Los Angeles, JK received her Grooming Master certification and ran her own grooming business in Palm Springs for 12 years before moving North. JK specializes in polished, high-end cuts bringing a distinct flair to every one of her creative custom designs.

Tae-oh

Tae-Oh has pretty much grown up at Top Dog, ever since his mother Jin joined the team when he was 11. Over the years he has developed a strong set of skills for working with dogs and is most often found in the Top Dog bathing room. Tae-Oh enjoys the individuality of every dog he works with and takes great pride in his role as an animal care provider.
