What if my dog or cat is nervous?
Our staff are experienced in working with pets who may not be comfortable in grooming environments. Using a gentle and patient approach, we provide a positive and relaxing experience that sets them up for future visits. Even the most anxious four-legged guests look forward to their next Top Dog spa day.
Can I bring my own bathing/grooming products?
If you have preferred bathing or grooming products, we welcome you to bring them in for us to use on your dog. We do ask that you check ahead of time though to ensure that your preferred products are non-allergenic.
Are nails and ear cleaning included with custom grooming?
Nail trims and ear cleaning/plucking, are included in all custom grooming appointments. Additional options from our “a la carte” menu above can also be added to your grooming plans upon request.
How long will my dog’s grooming appointment take?
Like any trip to a Spa, the duration of the visit is determined by the specific requirements of the appointment to make your dog look and feel their best. Most Top Dog Spa visits take between 2 and 4 hours, and we will let you know at drop-off what time your perfectly groomed pet will be available for their pick-up.
Do you wash dogs that have fleas?
We certainly do, and with local organic products of course! However, we request that you let us know that your dog has fleas when you call to book your appointment so that we can make the necessary arrangements for the safety of our other canine clients.
Can I wait at the Spa while my dog is being groomed?
Unfortunately, we do not allow pet owners to remain on the premises while their dog is being groomed because dogs are often distracted and/or overly excited when they see their humans. To avoid any unnecessary stress to your pet, we ask that while your pet is being pampered, you treat yourself to some “me” time too and we’ll see you when the job is done.
Is it possible to book a last-minute grooming service?
Top Dog is aware that sometimes unexpected scheduling requires a Spa treatment on short notice. We try our best to accommodate last minute booking and requests. We also accept walk-ins, but availability is not always guaranteed so it’s best to call us directly at 250-920-3647 to check.
What is your cancellation policy for grooming appointments?
Scheduling hiccups happen on occasion, and we fully understand that sometimes appointments may need to be re-scheduled. If you need to re-book your dog’s grooming session, we ask that you let us know with 24 hours notice, otherwise the full fee may be required. However, we often have other clients on a waiting list for grooming, so letting us know 250-920-3647 means we may be able to get another client to fill your slot.
What if I am late picking up my dog from their grooming appointment?
We fully appreciate that sometimes expected things come up at the last minute. If you expect to be late in picking up your dog, we ask that you please call us to let us know as soon as possible at 250-920-3647. Late fees are $5 for the first 10 min, $1 per min after that.
Do you groom cats as well as dogs?
We sure do, after all cats deserve a Spa Day too! Shave down, lion clip or just some nails, whatever your beloved kitty needs.
